The Rotary of Los Angeles Awards the HerShe Group

Community Service Grants are annual monetary awards given by the Rotary Club to organizations with "great projects aimed at improving society" says the Rotary Club of Los Angeles. The $6,000 award was given to Kenadie Cobbin-Richardson on behalf of the HerShe Group this summer at the City Club on Bunker Hill. A special thanks to Kathy Shirley, a HerShe Mentor, who encouraged Kenadie to apply for the grant and Rotary members, Gregory Brown and Derek Butler.

Rotary is a membership organization of over 1.3 million business and professional people, who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and help build goodwill and peace throughout the world. The purpose of the Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service above self.

With over 400 members in this chapter, The Rotary Club of Los Angeles is one of the oldest and largest clubs in Rotary.
